Do you work in a young person's sports club or care for children on a regular basis? Perhaps you're already a first aider but want to know a little more about how those techniques vary for young people.
The EFR Care for Children course mirrors the primary care course by EFR but adapts those techniques for dealing with children of different age groups.
You will learn about:
- Scene assessment
- PPE
- Responsiveness checks
- Communicating with emergency services
- Quickly recognising unresponsiveness and non-normal breathing
- Child and Infant CPR
- How to open airways
- Providing rescue breaths
- Importance of defibrillation
- AED use
- How to respond to a choking child/infant
The course lasts for 1 day and has no prerequisite requirements.
